Food was fresh and lots of it! The lunch special is a great deal! Entree, appetizer and drink for less than $8.00 dollars. Glad to see they have extended their hours.

I give only 3 stars because of the decor. The food is fantastic, but your initial impression when you open the door ~makes you want to turn around and walk right back out. That's what 2 different parties did in the short time I was there. Fresh paint, new chairs, updated decor with minimal cost would have a big impact. Heck, I'd do it!

Friendly staff and best hibachi cooking around!

We went here before we going to see a movie. I tried okinawan fried rice it was good and spicy ( not burning ). Their price is not bad for that amount of rice the plate is fully full it's a lot!

We eat here about once a week. My son loves the Sirloin Pho and I love the spicy Thai basil fried rice. They are always friendly and make sure you are happy with your meal.

The service is always friendly and fantastic. The food is amazing. Very reasonably priced. I wish I could rate it 6 stars!

I ordered teriyaki broccoli spicy shrimp, and my wife ordered shrimp pho noodle soup. Very clean, good place for lunch.

These crab rangoon literally melt in your mouth and the fried rice is phenomenal. I love the wall decor and the rustic/vintage vibe of the restaurant although it’s not very ordinary for this type of restaurant, it’s very eclectic. Bo helped me pick out exactly what I was looking for. Overall great experience!

Best Chinese food in Wichita

My family and I really like how Nippon revamped itself. They made plenty of new upgrades with it's decor and menu but they still have your old favorites. The food taste great and really like the mural on the wall (not pictured). I definitely recommend everyone to try it out.

The staff are very friendly and the manager is nice. They get to know their customers. The food is great but at times they can be crowded so service is slow. Great fried rice and chicken dishes. Sides are always done perfectly.

Portion size (large) was unexpected and price was great. Rice was delicious.

Foods good, not a clean table in sight

Can't believe this is the first time I've tried this place. Definitely an unexpected delight for anyone living in Maize and north west Wichita! Ordered the hibachi shrimp and garlic fried rice, general tso chicken, and teriyaki broccoli both with fried rice. The hibachi shrimp was cooked perfectly, the mushrooms weren't soggy or overcooked, the shrimp was also quite delightful, not rubbery or undercooked. The garlic fried rice had just the right amount of extra garlic and was some of the best fried rice ever. My kindergarten age twins shared the teriyaki broccoli and ate it with huge smiles on their faces. The general tso chicken is a tiny bit on the spicy side compared to other places, but not so spicy as to overwhelm the flavor of the sauce. Overall an awesome first experience!

Nippon Grill is my new obsession. The Pho is delicious, but the Volcano rice is a twist that I've not seen duplicated anywhere else. The staff are super friendly and courteous. Even from the kitchen, everyone through the door gets a genuine smile and a happy greeting. As a local company they have Maverick and Eagle specials which make me smile while supporting our local schools.

I used to come here a lot. Came in a few weeks ago and there's an American managing the place now. I used to go through the line fairly quickly, but now the American seems to want to carry on "good-ol'-boy" conversations with everybody while they're ordering. The food is still excellent, so if that doesn't bother you have at it :)

Absolutely delicious. My favorite fried rice in the Wichita area. Kind of a hidden gem that really doesn't deserve to be hidden. The "volcano fried rice" is very spicy but just as delicious.

Very disappointed that Pho is no longer on the menu. Lomein was subpar, the noodles were mushy and sauce was kind of bland. My 22 month old loved the chicken fried rice. Will not be in a rush to go back anytime soon.

The new owners are rude, stating the menu does not have to reflect the teriyaki sauce they insisted was on all rice meals. The was no tea or coke or egg rolls. We got our money back and left.

Spectacular Chinese/Japanese food and Nippon knows how to cook it right. So thumbs up for the service at Nippon!!!!
